Five years after the events of the original film, the Antarean aliens return to Earth to rescue several of their people's cocoons that were left on the ocean floor and are now threatened by seismic activity. They bring along the group of elderly retirees who had previously left Earth for the alien utopia of Antarea, allowing them to visit friends and family in Florida.
