Automatic speech-to-text transcription has arrived (via cloud integration or local AI models). EDIUS 11 now allows you to generate subtitles from an audio track, edit the text, and drop them onto the timeline as soft or hard subs. The open caption format support (EBU-STL, SRT, SCC) finally rivals dedicated subtitling tools.
Where other NLEs collapse under the weight of a 2-hour timeline with 500 clips, EDIUS 11 remains responsive. The (nested timelines) feature is now non-destructive and editable in real-time. You can build chapters as separate sequences and nest them into a master sequence without losing performance.
