If you dislike the modern, tab-heavy interface of TeamViewer 15+, you’ll appreciate the cleaner, more utilitarian layout of version 14.2. Everything from file transfer to remote reboot is exactly where long-time users expect it.

TeamViewer’s server-side version check sometimes blocks outdated clients. Fix: Disable auto-update in Options → Advanced → “Check for new version” (set to “Never”). If already blocked, you must manually allow legacy connections via the registry (not recommended for security). Better yet, only use v14.2 in LAN mode or with a custom TeamViewer host configuration.
