J-Cube is intended for educational settings, small dashboards, and as a foundation for custom analytics.

Located in Jurong East, JCube was a five-storey retail and edutainment hub managed by CapitaLand. Its name, chosen through a public competition, reflects its "J" location (Jurong) and its facade design, which resembles a six-sided ice cube.

When scrambled, the J-Cube loses its cubic form. It contorts into jagged, asymmetrical shapes that look like alien artifacts. The challenge is not only to match the colors but to return the object to its original cubic state—a process known as "shape-shifting."

At its core, the J-Cube is a "corner-turning" puzzle, but that description barely scratches the surface. Unlike a standard 3x3 Rubik’s Cube, which turns on layers, the J-Cube turns on its vertices (corners). This distinction is crucial. When you turn a corner on a J-Cube, you are not simply rotating a slice; you are fundamentally altering the geometry of the entire object.

One of the biggest advantages of the J-Cube is its x86 architecture. You do not need specialized ARM compilers. The challenge is not only to match the

J-Cube provides a clean, teachable implementation of multidimensional cube operations in pure Java. It is suitable for classroom exercises, hackathon prototypes, and small‑scale analytical tools. The source code is available under MIT license.
