If you already have a key that starts the engine, but the remote buttons no longer work (or you bought a new aftermarket fob case), you can manually sync the without any special tools.

If you only have one key, this method fails. Attempting it without two masters can sometimes lock the ECU for 10–15 minutes. | Key Type | Transponder | Remote Locking

You cannot program a new Toyota Etios transponder chip using only your ignition and door locks (like a 1990s Honda). The Etios requires either a working master key with a specific programming sequence, or diagnostic tools (OBD2 programmers) to access the immobilizer (ECU).

You only programmed the remote (central locking). You still need to program the transponder chip via OBD2.
