We learn the meaning of the title Pyaas (Thirst). It isn’t just for water. The second episode introduces the antagonist's backstory. isn't a cartoon villain. Flashbacks show him as a poor farmer’s son in 2005 who was denied a loan for a borewell. His thirst was for revenge. Now, he owns the borewells.
The lead actress sheds her glamorous image entirely. Look at her eyes in Episode 02 when she tastes the "bottled water" from the resort for the first time—it is salty, chemically treated, and yet, she drinks it because she has walked 2 miles to get it. It is raw.
