The lore theorists are split into two camps:
Furthermore, the event treats Zelda with respect. She is not a passive trophy. In the MStar narrative, she is a teacher. She corrects a player’s form. She explains that the "rhythm of the Master Sword" is a 6/8 time signature. Princess Zelda is shown to be competent at dancing—not because it’s silly, but because she views dance as a martial art. "Every displacement of air moves with intent," she says during the event’s climax.
It began on a night when the moons of Hyrule were obscured by a peculiar, shimmering violet haze. Princess Zelda, tireless in her research of the Zonai ruins, was sequestered in the private study of Hyrule Castle. The air was thick with the scent of ancient parchment and the soft glow of Silent Princess flowers. Without warning, the temperature in the room plummeted, and a rift—not unlike those seen during the era of the Calamity, yet distinctly more rhythmic in its pulsation—tore open in the center of the chamber.
We are, of course, talking about the seismic crossover event titled —a collaboration that bridges the gap between epic fantasy adventure and rhythmic idol simulation in a way no one saw coming.
For three days and three nights, the Princess and the MStar worked in secret. Zelda utilized her knowledge of Hylian geography, while the visitor provided the celestial coordinates and the "Star-Glass" containers needed to safely house the cosmic debris. It was a partnership of two worlds—one of magic and earth, the other of void and light.
Have you seen MStar in your game? Or did you just leave your N64 on too long last night? Sound off in the comments, but don't blink. It watches the comments, too.
