It utilizes the MS-CAN protocol, allowing it to access modules that standard scanners cannot see. This includes the Body Control Module (BCM), ABS, Airbag modules, Transmission Control Module (TCM), and the Instrument Cluster (IPC).
Connect your OBD adapter to the vehicle (ignition ON, engine OFF). Launch FORScan 2.3.50. It will run an "adapter test." A green checkmark next to "ELM327 v1.5 compatible" means you are ready.
Execute PATS programming, DPF regeneration, and brake bleeding.
Module programming draws significant power. If your battery is under 12.2V, the software aborts to prevent bricking. Fix: Connect a battery maintainer (trickle charger) before performing any module configuration or firmware update.
