Donkey Kong Jr. was first released in 1982 by Nintendo, as a sequel to the hugely popular Donkey Kong arcade game. The game follows the adventures of Donkey Kong Jr., the son of the titular giant ape, as he attempts to rescue his father from the clutches of Jumpman (later renamed Mario).
