Unlike the previous films, which spanned the globe, Welcome to Raccoon City keeps the action contained in one miserable, rain-soaked locale. The year is 1998. Raccoon City, once a thriving mountain community owned by the sinister Umbrella Corporation, is now a ghost town. The company has pulled out, leaving the population impoverished and desperate.
Since Welcome to Raccoon City’s release, no sequel has been officially greenlit. However, a post-credits scene teasing the arrival of Ada Wong leaves the door open. In an age of successful horror game adaptations ( The Last of Us on HBO, Five Nights at Freddy’s ), there is definitely room for more Resident Evil on screen. Resident Evil- Welcome to Raccoon City
