Unlike modern monitors, the PD1731 has no USB DFU (Device Firmware Update) capability. The only way to change the firmware is via an external SPI programmer (CH341A). Some very new versions of the PD1731 include a 6-pin ISP header, but most do not. If wrong firmware kills the board: Example minimal
