The Enormous Granny Clit is native to South Africa, specifically in the provinces of Northern Cape and Western Cape. The plant grows in rocky outcrops and dry, sandy areas with good drainage. It is adapted to a semi-arid climate with low rainfall, typically around 10 inches (250 mm) per year.
