Sand Land

SAND LAND was born from this freedom. Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for just 14 chapters, it was a concise, tight narrative—a rarity in a magazine known for series that run for hundreds of chapters.

The story begins with an unlikely alliance. Sheriff Rao, a weary and aging human lawman, realizes the King’s water supply is artificial and finite. To save his people, he needs to find the "Phantom Lake," a legendary source of water said to exist far beyond the King's reach. Realizing he cannot survive the journey alone, he does the unthinkable: he asks the demons for help. SAND LAND

is a vibrant action-RPG based on the 2000 manga by Akira Toriyama , the legendary creator of Dragon Ball SAND LAND was born from this freedom

Visually, SAND LAND is distinct from Dragon Ball . While Dragon Ball eventually moved toward cleaner lines and high-contrast energy, SAND LAND is defined by its grit and texture. The art is scratchy, shaded heavily with ink to convey the heat, dust, and decay of a ruined world. Sheriff Rao, a weary and aging human lawman,

debuted at a turning point in Toriyama’s career. It was short, sweet, and packed with the humor that made Dr. Slump famous. The art style stripped away the muscle-bound physiques of Saiyans and returned to a rounder, more expressive character design. The result is a tight, masterfully paced fable about trust, resource scarcity, and found family.

Following the success of the theatrical film, the franchise expanded with on Disney+ (Hulu in the US) in Spring 2024. This series is unique because it incorporates the film as its first arc.
