The functions that made Idrisi special (land change modeling, ecosystem services, niche analysis) are now available in QGIS, R, Python, and Google Earth Engine —all for free, all without licensing hassles, and all actively maintained.
Today, that process is dead. The trial version is no longer offered.
Using Idrisi Selva in 2026 is like using Windows 98 for daily work—possible, but unwise.
