His seminal work, , published in 2011, interweaves autobiographical vignettes with fictionalized accounts of wartime experiences, earning the Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize for its English edition, The Jasmine’s Whisper . Subsequent essays, compiled in Pattinam: Essays on Urban Tamil Identity (2015), interrogate the tensions between tradition and modernity in rapidly urbanizing Tamil communities.
