Often, Bollywood love songs fall into two traps: they are either too cheesy or too complex. Mithoon avoids both. The lyrics of O Meri Laila are a poetic celebration of infatuation.

"O Meri Laila" is a high-energy fusion track that blends traditional Punjabi folk music with contemporary electronic dance music (EDM). Pritam draws heavy inspiration from the rhythmic structure of the iconic Punjabi folk song "Jutti Kasuri" (and its popular adaptation "Kali Teri Choti" by RDB), but recontextualizes it into a modern club anthem.

This is a striking admission. The protagonist isn't asking for love back; he is simply asking for the peace that comes from looking at his beloved. Later, the song pivots to the famous sargam sequence— "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa" —which acts as a metaphor for the completeness the lover feels. Just as the notes complete the scale, she completes him.

Unlike typical Bollywood love songs that rely heavily on the tabla or synth pads, this track uses a distinct finger-picking guitar loop. When the dholak enters during the antara (stanzas), it brings a subtle qawwali flavor to the track. The percussion is earthy, giving the song a "drunken walk" feel—unsteady but glorious.
