You have inserted the shield too deep. Pull it out 2mm. The shield should sit loosely until the window pushes it into place.
Run your thumb along the entire top edge. Then, roll up the window so it presses against the shield from the inside. Leave the window up for 1 hour.

Take the alcohol wipe from your kit (or use 70% isopropyl on a cloth). Scrub the top of the door frame where the shield will sit. You are removing wax, silicone, and road film. Wipe until the cloth comes away clean.
