Set your multimeter to "Continuity." Touch the probes to the two small metal test points on the top of the fuse while it is still plugged in. If it beeps, the fuse is good. No beep means it’s time for a replacement.

If your fuse box cover is missing or labels are worn off:

Disclaimer: Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before removing or replacing fuses. Use the exact amperage fuse specified—never use a higher amp fuse (e.g., replacing a 15A with a 30A), as this can melt your wiring harness and cause a fire. 1992 Chevy C1500 Fuse Box Diagram

The main fuse panel is located inside the cab. You will find it on the driver’s side, tucked under the dashboard to the left of the steering column.

The fuse block uses standard blade-type fuses (ATO/ATC style).

For many owners, finding an accurate can be surprisingly difficult. Chilton and Haynes manuals can be vague, and the sticker on the inside of the fuse panel cover may have faded or fallen off entirely over the last three decades.

The underhood box uses larger "MAXI" fuses for high-current devices. This box also contains the critical relays for engine management.

If your instrument cluster goes dark, check and Fuse #13 . If the gauges work but don't light up, the dimmer switch on your headlight knob might be the culprit, but Fuse #13 is the primary circuit protector for those bulbs. Fuel Pump Not Priming

However, as these pickups age, electrical gremlins often become part of the ownership experience. Whether your radio just cut out or your headlights are flickering, the first place to look is the fuse box.
