Hypertrm.dll

The file hypertrm.dll is a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file developed by Hilgraeve Inc. It is most famously associated with , a terminal emulation program that was included with Microsoft Windows for over a decade.

Some late-1990s CNC milling controllers (e.g., FANUC Series 0) have hardcoded handshake routines expecting HyperTerminal’s exact file transfer timing. PuTTY’s ZMODEM sometimes fails where hypertrm.dll succeeds.

⚠️ Patching the DLL breaks digital signatures and may violate licensing for Hilgraeve's proprietary code.
