Hesitation between 1,500–3,000 RPM. Manual Fix: Perform the VVT-i oil control valve (OCV) test. Measure resistance (7 ohms). Then apply 12V to the OCV—you should hear a click and see the spool valve move. If stuck, clean with brake cleaner or replace. Also verify oil pressure—sludge blocks the camshaft’s advance passage.
