When Avigilon releases a firmware update, it frequently contains patches for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). These are publicly disclosed security flaws. If you delay an update, you are essentially leaving a key under the doormat for anyone who knows where to look.

The update was interrupted, or the bootloader is corrupted. Fix: Perform a hard factory reset via the physical reset button (usually needs a paperclip held for 15 seconds while powering on).
