The plot kicks into gear when Newton is assigned election duty in the jungles of Chhattisgarh, a region plagued by Naxalite insurgency. His mission is to conduct a free and fair election in a polling booth designated for the locals, nestled deep within a conflict zone. He is accompanied by a cynical security officer, Aatma Singh (Pankaj Tripathi), and a small team of indifferent colleagues.

Newton, a rookie clerk, is determined to hold a "free and fair" election in a remote tribal village despite threats from Maoist rebels and the cynical indifference of the security forces tasked with protecting him. Accolades: National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
