Earlier versions (3.x) had lower polyphony (32 notes) and a "Metallic" high-end. Version 4.23.14 smoothed out the resonant filter and added the WDM stack, which cleaned up the noise floor significantly. If you find a copy of 4.0 or 4.14, upgrade immediately.
