Set in a small coastal town in the late 1980s (just before the breakup of Yugoslavia), the series follows a group of high school friends navigating friendship, first love, family expectations, and dreams of the future. The title is deliberately bittersweet—while the characters are living what should be the “best years” of their lives, the audience knows the turbulent historical events that await them in the early 1990s.
